Hot rolled strip vertical rolls can be divided into several types according to their structure and function. The most common are fixed vertical rolls and adjustable vertical rolls.
Fixed vertical rolls have a fixed roll gap width, suitable for producing strip products with relatively uniform width specifications. This type of vertical roll has a simple structure and low maintenance cost, but it lacks flexibility when producing products with large width variations.
Adjustable vertical rolls adjust the roll gap width through hydraulic or mechanical devices to meet the production needs of strips with different widths. Adjustable vertical rolls can be further divided into single-sided adjustment and double-sided adjustment types. Single-sided adjustment vertical rolls are usually used in roughing mill stands, changing the roll gap width by adjusting the position of one roll, suitable for large adjustments in strip width. Double-sided adjustment vertical rolls are used in finishing mill stands, achieving more precise width control and edge flatness by simultaneously adjusting the positions of both rolls.
